What is EAB?

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB - Agrilus planipennis) is a non-native, invasive insect, first discovered in Michigan in 2002. Since its arrival, it has destroyed hundreds of millions of ash trees and cost billions of dollars in management.

1/2 an inch long and 1/8 an inch wide, this tiny pest has 100% mortality rate in unprotected ash trees and is spreading quickly throughout the Midwest.
